How to create a Google for Nonprofits account

Creating a Google for Nonprofits account is a really smart idea for any nonprofit organization because of the free tools that Google provides, including YouTube for Nonprofits, Gmail, and especially Google Ad Grants.

Establishing a Google for Nonprofits account is quite easy and only takes a few steps.

The first step in the process is requesting a Google for Nonprofits account. It’s a simple process that verifies your organization’s charitable status and confirms that you meet Google’s eligibility requirements. All you need is a person in your organization with an email address that shares a domain with your website. It is best to have a tenured senior leader create this account to maintain ownership and continuity if more junior staff depart the organization.

To start this process, visit the “Get started Google for Nonprofits” page here and click the “Get Started” button/link in Section 2: https://support.google.com/nonprofits/answer/3367631?hl=en

Most submitted requests are reviewed and validated within two weeks, and in many cases the review is faster than that.

Once your Google for Nonprofits account has been created, you’ll have access to the host of tools Google provides to nonprofit organizations, especially Google Ad Grants, a completely free way for nonprofits to advertise in Google Search results.
