CliftonStrengths Team Coaching
CliftonStrengths coaching offers tremendous benefits not only for individuals but also for teams. By leveraging the strengths of each team member, teams can experience enhanced collaboration, productivity, and overall performance. Here's how:
Improved Team Dynamics: Team members gain a deeper understanding of their individual strengths and the unique contributions they bring to the team, enabling them to develop a greater sense of trust, respect, and appreciation for one another. This fosters positive team dynamics and a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and empowered.
Enhanced Communication and Collaboration: Because team members learn how to communicate about their strengths in a common language, they can more effectively convey ideas, actively listen, and provide constructive feedback. Improved communication leads to stronger collaboration, increased synergy, and better problem-solving capabilities within the team.
Optimized Role Allocation: CliftonStrengths coaching allows teams to strategically assign roles and responsibilities based on individual strengths, optimizing productivity and efficiency. Each team member contributes their best work, leading to higher-quality outcomes and increased job satisfaction.
Increased Engagement and Motivation: When team members have the opportunity to utilize their strengths regularly, they are three times more likely to have a positive outlook on life and six times more likely to be engaged in the workplace. They experience a greater sense of fulfillment, find meaning in their contributions, and become more committed to achieving team goals.
Resilience and Flexibility: CliftonStrengths coaching equips teams with the tools and mindset adapt to new circumstances, leverage their collective strengths to overcome obstacles, and find innovative solutions. This resilience and flexibility enable teams to thrive in dynamic and demanding environments.
Unlock your team’s full potential. Foster a positive and collaborative team culture. Drive outstanding performance.
My Approach
Following each team member taking the CliftonStrengths assessment, we begin with learning why becoming a strengths-based organization is critical to success. Then, team members move through the Emotional Intelligence model within a strengths context, including how to own their strengths, how to appreciate other team members’ strengths, how their talents fit into their team, and how the team can accomplish its most pressing challenges.
Phase One: Discovering and Owning Your CliftonStrengths
Develop a strong self-awareness about your strengths
Establish a common language about strengths within your team
Learn how each team member is a valuable contributor based on their unique combination of strengths
Phase Two: The Power of Partnerships
Acknowledge the value you bring to others and the value others bring to you
Learn how each team member views each strength and their pros and cons
Recognize how the most effective teams rely on strong partnerships
Phase Three: Team Dynamics, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Visualize and examine your team’s collective strengths
Analyze your team’s strongest and weakest domains
Build social awareness by seeing individual strengths through a team lens
Phase Four: Accomplishing Team Goals, Challenges
Focus team strengths to accomplish an important challenge
Learn when the team is at its best and worst
Establish agreement on when your team is at its best (and worst)
Methodology
Team coaching sessions are conducted through a series of four two-hour modules, each with embedded activities and exercises that resemble the four-phase approach.
Phase One: Discovering and Owning Your CliftonStrengths
A two-hour activity that combines a presentation and several participatory exercises to enable participants to understand their innate talents, learn how to turn those talents into strengths, and why putting your strengths to work everyday is the best way for them to be most successful. By the end, participants have a fuller understanding of their CliftonStrengths themes and how to apply them, as well as an eagerness to learn more. This can be done for a group of any size, ranging from small teams to entire organizations.
Phase Two: The Power of Partnerships
A two-hour session that includes reflective and one-on-one activities to increase the recognition of the power of two people working together to achieve their goals. These activities increase self-management, the ability to recognize how your actions impact other people and the power to control your actions based on those responses. These reflections include learning how others view your strengths—what they appreciate and find frustrating about them—and the value you see in others’ strengths.
Phase Three: Team Dynamics, Strengths, and Weaknesses
In this two-hour session, participants learn social awareness and how their talents fit into their teams. Starting with a focus on their unique contributions to the team, the group uses a “team grid” to see every team members’ strengths. This enables robust conversation about the team’s overall strengths and potential weaknesses, while setting the scene for how teams solve problems, work together, and accomplish their goals.
Phase Four: Accomplishing Team Goals, Challenges
In this one-hour session, the team focuses on social management, learning and discussing how the team can come together to accomplish its goals. Through an exercise called “The Best of Us to Accomplish Our Goal,” each team member shares when they’re at their best, their worst, what they can offer the team, and what they need from the team, all within the context of an agreed-upon team goal.
